The Departure: Zai Jian

Oh Beijing,

It has been 8 weeks of fun. The type of fun where you only speak Chinese all the time because you signed a contract that told you to :)

The funny thing is - when we officially graduated from the program, most of us were still speaking Chinese...or some mixture of Chinese and English. It was hard to accept that we could actually speak our native language again....wow!

But what solved this? Going to one last night of karaoke and singing everything from Michael Jackson to Avril Lavene fixed that problem right away.

Now it is 2:51am. My voice is happily on vacation from all the singing.
At 3:30am, I will leave the dorm here at Bei Shi Da University and take the hour-long ride to the airport.

It has been fun. I hope I can come back here soon as a full-fledged diplomat!
