WW II Memorial

China's most tense politics today is with Japan. This has roots in the history of World War II, and of the Chinese view that Japan is not owning up to atrocities committed in the name of the Emporer.

On July 7th, the anniversary of Japan's invasion, our group went to the Memorial Museum Commemorating Resistance Against the Japanese Invasion.

At then entrance is this grand bronze wall-mounted sculpture of Chinese people who are joining the fight against WW II Japan.

The exhibits were very disturbing and moving. The most graphic depictions I just did not have the heart to take a picture of.
